I agree with David, drivers are the number one reason this fails. Also, if you are running windows 7, use windows key + P to change the settings for dual monitors.

i would say just to go the mfg site and download the latest drivers they offer, btw i never trust any of the updates i get from windows update when it comes to graphics drivers

sometimes you have to use the application that was installed with the drivers to do some functions. look for an intel/Nvidia application where you can set the display properties.

Also keep this in mind, some video cards with dual ports, VGA and DVI only clone the output. I've noticed this on a cheaper version of a nvidia card made for a name brand PC maker.

Problem solved. It was not recognizing the Intel graphics driver. Loaded proper driver and it works now.... Should have known it was something so stupid and simple. Damn stock windows drivers search.
